SunSet Pines – a fusing design class – AQS Lancaster

SunSet Pines by Frieda AndersonIt was a challenge to do this class in the space that we were provided with but I was so proud of everyone for getting their tops done and working nicely along side each other in a very tight room. We had 22 in this class, two to a table top.

This is a design class with a pattern. Which means that everyone has something to refer to but then must determine what they want to place where in the design.

Some people love the challenge.

Some really struggle to work outside of their “BOX” comfort zone.

I think that is one of the reasons we take classes, to do just that, work outside our comfort zone and have a guiding hand there to help us work through the problems that we may insert.

Each one turns out differently and I love the way they look.

Working with my “Blackened” Rainbow stripe and my bright Yellow Sunset pre-fused fabrics in this half day class, the students created stunning contrast in their designs.

Each student achieved these designs with a 1/2 yard of the blackened rainbow and a fat quarter of the orange with an eighth of a yard blue/purple for the tree branches and trunks.

My gradations go a long way!

EVERYONE went home with a top this far along.

All they had to do at home was put on the borders and quilt their SunSet Pines. It should be up on the wall by now.

Way to go gals!!!
