I have been a JAM member of SAQA for awhile now. This is a great organization who’s sole purpose is as – an international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the art quilt and the artists who create them. We are an information resource on all things artquilt related for our members as well as the public. Founded in 1989 by an initial group of 50 artists, SAQA members now number more than 3,400 artists, teachers, collectors, gallery owners, museum curators and corporate sponsors.
Each year they ask their members to contribute to a trunk show that will travel the world representing it’s membership. As a quilt guild you can request to rent this trunk show to show to your group. These trunk show quilts are only 7″ x 10″, so it’s easy to ship them and show them at your group.
This is my little quilt that will be part of the 2017 traveling trunk show.
Winter Pine Tree 7″ x 10″
Made of my hand dyed cotton/silk blend fabric and a little hand dyed cotton.
So sorry to learn about your foot surgery. Eight weeks is a long time. It isn’t easy to hop around on one good foot, but it may be a good time to design some more little quilts, at least on paper, and in fabric maybe, if you can get to your studio or have someone bring it to you.
Take care and get well.
Merry Christmas!
Thanks Alice, I am able to sew a little each day, just not for very long.
Happy Holiday to you too.
Will there be a calendar for 2017? I’m not sure our office can do without them?
