I like making little projects along with all the big projects I do. It’s very satisfying to finish something in a short amount of time.

These place mats are made with my hand dyed fabrics, using the Fancy Forest pattern from Elizabeth Hartman.

I was a little hesitant to start this pattern because of all the small pieces, but she has very thorough and easy to follow directions. AND by making just one of the creatures it was very fast to do.

I did buy a butterfly fabric for the back and binding so they are reversible if so desired. Made in three days.

I machine quilted this using a loop to loop design that you can find in my Free Motion Machine Quilting booklet, on my BERNINA Q20 sewing machine.
