Monday is a blank page

Every Monday is a blank page waiting to be written on.

“This should be the spirit every Monday. Know that something good will always happen.”

This week I hope to finish up the quilting on a large project that I have been working on for over a year. Then the blocking and binding of said project next week. I will eventually share the project with you, but I want to keep it secret until it is finished and ready to show.

It has been a long and discovery filled project that I have loved and hated. Creativity I think IS about LOVE and HATE. Finding what you love to do, trying new ideas, discarding ones that don’t work out and moving forward. Disappointment AND excitement are part of that process too. I think so often we try something and it doesn’t quite work exactly the way we thought and we discard the whole process instead of taking the information we found useful  and trying again with renewed vigor and knowledge. I always like to say success is 90% showing up, everyday, tackling the problem and doing the work. So many people forget that.

Here’s a little glimpse of the project – it is titled UNFURLING.

Stitch in the ditch around the roots

Burying threads

Ripping out quilting I didn’t like.

Have a great and productive week!
