I am very excited to report that I am a winner. I just returned home from the IQA Quilt Festival in Houston, TX where the TWO quilts I entered in the show both won awards.

My quilt WINTER TREES, 60″ x 70″ won a first place in the small pieced category. This is the second time I have won a first place in the small pieced category and I am SO pleased. This quilt is created using a curved piecing technique. A full scale pattern is made of the design out of freezer paper and  using glue instead of pins to hold the seams together, I piece the sections together. I LOVE this technique and will be making many more designs using this method.

Winter Trees 2019 60″ x 70″

My second winner is FALLING LEAVES, 15″ x 15″. It won a second place in the miniature ART category. It is also made using the freezer paper template technique.

I am one happy camper.
