WORKSHOP — Duluth Trees

Level: Beginner to Advanced—One day—No sewing machine required

Raw -edge fusing makes quilting fun and fast. This woodland design is simple yet elegant and naturally suieted for quiet reflection of the passing seasons. Free form cut tree shapes and using a collage method fuse them onto fabric dyed in a colorway that speaks of cabins, lakes and rivers. Each student will create their own unique forest in the woods art quilt.

Supply list for this class:

  • Pattern & Fabric Kit $35
  • Extra fine sharpie marker and mechanical pencil
  • Iron & large bath towel for ironing surface/ plain muslin or fabric for smooth surface
  • Really sharp small embroidery scissors for fabric
  • Rotary cutting mat and ruler
  • Rotary cutter/fancy rotary blades optional
  • 3 yards of Wonder Under fusible web - it says #805 on the end of the bolt(no substitutions please)
  • crib size batting (optional)Hobbs Heirloom 80/20, or Fairfield cotton classic
  • BOOKS (optional): Fun, Fast, Fusies by Frieda Anderson
  • Other hand-dyed fabric and threads will be available for purchase.
