I dye all my fabrics flat on platters. Then they dry overnight on racks.

While I am doing the days dyeing, the fabrics from the day before are being washed and dried.

After dinner I iron and sort what I dyed the day before.

I am constantly surrounded by color.

That makes me, and George, happy.

I love this little plant and search for it every spring.

These pictures were taken the other noon on our daily walk in the woods. 

This group of JitP’s are just coming up and not even open yet.

The trillium’s are up too as well as the May Apples, wild Geranium and these sweet blue flowers.

And while the trillium’s intrigue me as well I haven’t made any art from them in awhile. Well I haven’t made any art from the Jack’s in awhile either, but I just love them and can’t wait till the one’s in my garden pop up. I am going to look at the nursery this year for some more to put in the garden.

Pretty soon it will be too buggy to go to the woods and George and I will start walking around the man made lake by our hospital. When they built the hospital several years ago they installed a geo-thermal pond to heat and cool the building.

It is a mile around the pond and we love going up there in the good weather. I get a little sun everyday along with our daily walk. Life is good.

This little quilt is the fall version of my pattern Sister Trees. It is mounted on Timtex like in my class Working with Timtex. And it is made from my hand dyed fabric from my Flooded with Color class.

All of these classes are fun, informative and geared towards any skill level.

You or your guild can have me teach any and or all of these classes right in your backyard, that way you don’t have to travel to a far off quilt show to have fun and learn something new.

Hey all you Californians I will be teaching some very fun classes in Long Beach this year.

I have never been to this show so you need to come and cheer me on and take a class.

FABRIC TO DYE FOR. This is your chance to learn how to dye fabric the simple and easy way.

I LOVE COLOR and in this class we will make two twelve step gradations, and maybe more if you are really fast.

I am launching a new class that is really exciting and different.

While I was on the road my husband was a saint and cleaned the garden all by himself.

I was so happy when I came home and found a clean and ready to mulch garden.

I am going to order mulch this weekend and spend a WHOLE day out in my garden.

It will make me VERY happy.

This robin egg is incredibly blue, to bad it doesn’t show up as brilliant in the photo.

 I LOVE the spring flowers. They make me so happy.

I made this over the Christmas holidays and it was so fun to work on spring colors in the middle of winter.

This is a freezer paper pieced leaf in a twin size bed layout.

I amazed myself by making this quilt in less than 2 months.

But I am off again today, headed to Denver to film a very exciting new adventure. I can’t tell you what it is just yet, but I think it is going to be great. Stay tuned for details.

My day will consist of getting repacked and reorganized which is always a struggle for me (the organizing part). I make too many lists.

The highlight of the day will be getting my nails done and taking a walk with George in the woods.

It was nice to come home to spring time. Doesn’t it seem like every year winter gets longer and longer?

But for those that didn’t make it to the show, I will share with you a picture of one of my favorite quilts this year at the AQS show in Paducah, KY. I love Linda Roy’s work and this was her entry this year.
